RAINBOWS AT MIDNIGHT

When the drabness of the day 

threatens to stay 
like dust on worn out sleeves

Nerves frayed 
from cards over played,

like a tree with dying leaves

The night embraces
it's magic displaces
the pervading angst of boredom
Changes the sullen
 all of a sudden
displaced by a vision above

Rainbows at midnight
circling the moon light
leaving me baffled, mystified
Rainbows at midnight
alive and burning bright
Dragon fire in heavens eyes

I stay transfixed
frozen in time
a minute, an hour, mesmerised
waves of elation
delightful creation
revealed celestial surprise 

There is no source
for this divine force
this unexplained gift given free
all pervading
always perpetual
the draws you in like gravity
