1997 ANOTHER JEEVAN'S ODE
1997: ODE TO THE SEQUESTERED AMOEBA
written for my eccentric friend Jeevan
T'was an early sunlit morn
in a warm July Summer
Basking in the infinite glory of a million sunbeams
I was doing the back stroke with my pseudopodal extensions
Fifty lengths in my olympic size pond
Can easily tire the strongest of my kind
but yet i toiled valiantly to strive towards that golden figure
I was in full steam giving it all my loving attention
Twenty minutes later I lay satisfied
My belly up and fully exhausted
sipping a cool chlorophyll juice
and pondering my next action
When suddenly I was lifted
in a tidal wave of green murky water
into the dark recesses of a cavernous mouth
Scared lonely and quite out of wit
I lay suspended in this scary pit
