THE ROSES - PT II

There are those that grasp a rose

by the stem, hold a pose

then carelessly them dispose

by the road to decompose

The proper way is to hold it close

Bring it nearer to your nose

Fiery breath a healthy dose

press it gently between lips

Petals on the fingertips

flushing cheeks carnal red

Whither the way don't forgo the fact

that with the Rose there comes the thorn

and with careless brush Blood will be drawn
