MONO CHROMATIC EMOTION
The background speeds like a motion picture
A 40's montage of black and white
Back then life's still moments meant a lot more
Than today’s rush under technicolored light
Back then you could snatch a smile
Turn aspiration into inspiration
Cause a speed in the pulse , while
You wax in adventive isolation
Back then you could swirl with flowers
Even wear them if you so desire
Spinning the roving eye with a lash
Sparking a wish with a flick of fire
Back then a shielded eye reflected secrets
Mirrored by interspersed dark and bright
Hiding just enough to cloud wrong and right
Revealing just enough light to delight
The shadows produced by ribbons and bows
Dance under the cool protection offered
Yet can’t control the spilling curls of mischief
Cascading from a floppy crown proferred
Those were the days washed more colourful
Than the drab grey clouds of today
Filled with snapshots of unrestrained euphoria
Captured forever in a sudden sway
Beheld thus entrenched in a time long past
And drenched in a yester happiness kidnapped
The smile continues to bridge reflection
Over monochromatic emotion snapped
