SURPRISE

T'was what it was,
Another turn of the second hand
Another hour marked by eternal time
crawling forward in ultra slow motion

Rather ordinary by all means
Something that would go unnoticed
A regular chain of events
drowned by the side of an untamed ocean

A cascade of stories
grabbed by the lens of a camera
capturing the raw essence of the present
fuelling the advent of an explosion

Melted cocoa butter
And petals trapped in a half smile
A cloak of cotton black drape
containing fragrance in a potion

A surprise nonetheless
gift wrapped in a reminiscent hug
sparking a time lapse torrent
of snapshots stored in imagination

A multitude of dreams and realities
Admixed with finding fantasies
discovered by serendipity
stuck in still life's precious revolution
