STRINGS OF BLUE
Play me a tune O resonant wood
Filling my heart with reminiscence
A lilting song of days gone by
With a surging chorus of defiance
A teaspoon of soul added to the mix
A dash of zest, a drop of dew
Just enough not more not less
Pearls on strings of blue
Caress me with a lullaby
Let it run softly over my fingertips
Strumming absentminded notes
that echo philosophy
Synchronous and spontaneous
from a fount of desire
Harmonized over an idea hidden
beneath the pulse of cerulean wires
