BRONZE IS THE COLOUR OF GREEN
A solitary shadow stood by the sea
Ensnared in the bloom of a heliotrope
and like all shadows it fell helplessly
Against the purple blossom
The shadow it belonged to another
Created by an instance of sun
Choosing to hover at noon and discover
A talisman amidst the flotsam
A trophy stranded upon rock,
Smoothed by a millennia of waves
Tinged vibrant like a peacock
A vision not forgotten
Poseidon's prize holding life in wonder
Balancing purpose with practised ease
Stranded perhaps to start the Summer
In a quiet uncommon manner
A solemn statue with gaze averted
Drenched by the spray of the swirling foam
Nature stilled in colours primary
Bronze is the colour of green
