MIRRORS
the need to look for but once glance
We gaze instead transfixed and rooted
enjoying the unison of action and thought
Mirrors they tend to speak the truth
The glassy surface never lies
An impartial reveal sans hesitation
Spilling secrets with each visitation
Floodgates unlocked reflecting confidence
as we stare and the stare returned
You confide with the vulnerable you
Until we become a strengthened me
You smile the smile that no one sees
You stay enraptured by the tease
Enjoying the ever spreading chill
That grows alive with every thrill
Until at last in the moment rare
when at last you are stripped bare
A reflection just as imagined appears
It looks like you but it is me
